Lisa Matassa (born October 12, in Manhasset, New York) is an American country singer and singer-songwriter. In the 1980s she had two pop hits reach the Top 10 on the Dance Music Charts, including 1987's "I've Got the Hots for You" and 1988's "Rock Me Baby,"〔〔 both credited to Lysa Lynn. She released a debut country EP on March 31, 2011 titled ''Me Time.''〔〔 The success of Lisa Matassa's most-recent CD, SOMEBODY’S BABY, has elevated her status from "popular regionally-recognized entertainer" to "rising Country star." Her forthcoming album project, WHY I’M HERE – LEGENDARY DUETS, will be released in two volumes with Volume 1 due in stores fall of 2015 and Volume 2 being released after. Lisa’s concept for the album was to take great songs from great artists that she has admired for years and to record them as collaborations / duets to properly pay homage to those artists. The project kicked-off with “A Night With Legends” concert at The Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville on June 10, 2015 which was recorded live for a future television broadcast. Legendary artists on the album and who performed at the concert included The Oak Ridge Boys, Mickey Gilley, Larry Gatlin, The Bellamy Brothers, Eddy Raven, T. Graham Brown, David Frizzell, Johnny Lee, Exile, Marty Raybon of Shenandoah, Lee Greenwood, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart and Tim Rushlow of Little Texas. ==Early life== Lisa Matassa was born and initially raised on Long Island, New York.〔 She comes from a musical family; her mother〔 used to sing in a doo-wop group, and her grandmother was an opera singer.〔 As a child she often listened to artists such as Loretta Lynn and Elvis Presley.〔 When Matassa was seven years old her family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they remained for eight years.〔 Matassa began studying opera with an alumna of the Metropolitan Opera〔 when she was about nine, continuing until age 14, when she branched into pop and rock.〔 Her family moved back to Franklin Square, New York when she was in tenth grade.〔
